Hello, sunshine!
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet. This is a lifetime continuation of a photography passion that has driven my life since 1979.
I'm not going to bore you with a bunch of stories of my past life that all focused my desire and energy into this new direction. Suffice it to say, I found my direction at an early age and have devoted the years since driven by the craft of photography, including a formally trained photojournalist with the USAF. Since choosing Oklahoma as my final frontier after military retirement, I've done well as a portrait, wedding, and commercial business owner with Trawick Images, Inc.
In 2021, I received the difficult news that the kidney cancer I battled - and conquered - in 2000 was back and lodged in my shoulder. As you can imagine, the hit to my health, drive, and energy was intense. The struggle continues with recent immunotherapy infusions to counter the war raging inside, I must still find a way to express myself and continue capturing the world around me.
You can read a little more about this on my business blog, so long as it's still functional. Read More..
This pivot has also opened a new project with my battle buddy, Fielding "Peep" Piepereit, appropriately called "Forgotten Main Street". These wandering travel sojourns off the beaten path to rediscover the wonders of our great nation.
In the meantime, I hope you follow me on this artistic site where my more creative art is displayed. These are images captured with Fujifilm camera systems paired with manual focus vintage lenses. This combination along with the incredible color science of Fujifilm, allows me to return to the feel of analog film without getting my hands wet in the darkroom.
I look forward to reading your comments and your support in this new adventure!
